Wellness is the name of the game for Herb Savvy. As a leading herbal remedy store in Chesapeake, Herb Savvy needed a bright, welcoming space which made customers feel like wellness and health are right around the corner.

The Challenge

Before working with Carlton Building Services, Herb Savvy’s shop was pretty good, but it did need some minor modifications so the space better reflected their brand. Along with ensuring capturing Herb Savvy’s essence, a contractor would also have to be adept at bringing the space up to code, since the previous tenant, an old shoe shop, had done some modifications which weren’t up to code.

Searching for a Contractor

When looking for a contractor, Herb Savvy needed to find someone who could get the job done well–and in as little time as possible so they could open the shop to customers ASAP. They chose Carlton Building Services since we’re a local leader in quick turnarounds and high quality work.

Quick Turnaround

As we previously mentioned, Herb Savvy had a 2.5 week turnaround time so they could keep serving clients. The list of modifications–updating paint, flooring, lighting, repairing the walls, fixing the previous tenant’s mistakes–would take a month for many teams. But we were able to balance out what work we did and what work they brought other people in to do in order to meet their deadline. The end result met their expectations and the 2.5 week time frame.

Up to Code

A major challenge for this space was bringing the electrical up to code. The previous tenant had made modifications to doors, windows, and flooring which not only didn’t meet the electrical code, but were also adding wear and tear to the space. Since Carlton Building Services is a local company, we knew the building codes of the area inside and out–and were able to make the necessary modifications to bring Herb Savvy’s space up to code and to prevent future wear and tear.

Bright and Airy After Minor Modifications

While the modifications were minor, the transformation was major. The new flooring, ceiling tiles, updated paint, repair walls, and light gave the space a bright, airy feel. It captured the holistic, sweet vibes of Herb Savvy.
