Pursuit is a high end sneaker brand with locations across Virginia (with more locations coming soon!). One of their most popular locations in the Lynnhaven Mall hadn’t been renovated recently and needed an updated look which matched the luxury and swag of their sneakers.

The Challenge

Pursuit presented an interesting construction challenge. They wanted to give their space a red carpet look. Their list of renovations was over a month’s worth of work–but they needed to find a contractor who could complete the project in two weeks.

Searching for a Contractor

To finish such a feat, Pursuit knew they needed the right contractor in their corner. They needed someone with project management skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and a proven track record of completing high quality construction projects in a quick time frame. To beat the challenge, they turned to a tried and true partner who had exceeded their expectations in the past: Carlton Building Services. Once we understood the full scope of work, we created a game plan to follow an expedited schedule.

Renovations Galore

given the tight turnaround, our team got to work on the various renovations. We ripped out old shelving and removed faux walls. We skimmed, primed, and painted the walls that were left. We also had to find the tile that they had used prior to the renovation and install floating shelves with lights that highlighted their amazing products. The new tile had to march the old in order to capture Pursuit’s vision and brand.

The Red Carpet Effect

Once the renovations were completed, it was time to add the red carpet effect. By removing the tile and pouring self leveling compound and running epoxy, we were then able to run a red carpet from the front entrance to the back wall. We also installed floating shelves throughout the store and ran LED strip lighting underneath to capture the style of many basketball players and celebrities whose sneakers are featured on Pursuit’s shelves.
