Commercial Construction Examples that Changed the Bottom Line

Commercial construction projects are expensive. And for many small, local businesses the previous sentence is an understatement. Yet, when discussing a project’s finances, it’s important to consider how a project will boost your bottom line, not just the upfront cost. Here’s some commercial construction examples to demonstrate the value-add of a renovated space.

Provide a better client experience

After you complete a construction project, you can provide your clients and customers with a better experience. At least that was the case for Bonilla Pet Studios and Pursuit. Both businesses had expanded and needed an updated space to reflect their changing brand.

For Bonilla, this looked like a pet-perfect photography studio and renovating behind the scenes spaces so they were most functional.

For Pursuit, this meant adding a red carpet feel to their store and finding a better way to showcase their shoes.

For both, the elevated space and experience encourages customers to buy more, return quicker, and recommend your business to friends.

Provide new offers

Sometimes, commercial construction means you can provide new offers. This was the case for Jump Trampoline who wanted to add a wipe-out machine. In three weeks, the system had been installed and they were able to offer a new jumping experience for their customers.

Imagine how a new offering could boost your bottom line—and create a novel reason for people to return or check out your business space for the first time.

A space to reflect your growth–and future growth

A space that reflects your recent growth (and where you are going in the future) is a game changer for your revenue. Just like new software or hiring another employee, it improves your business’ capabilities and makes space for new opportunities.

McCormick Law and Adele Diamonds both found themselves growing in 2022. They needed to renovate their spaces to reflect that growth and future business goals. Both businesses called our team to build the future with them.

No loss on income during construction

This one may seem less obvious, but if you choose the right contractor, you can operate business as usual during construction. This means you don’t lose revenue while renovating.

At an office space in Virginia Beach, we were able to do just that. Their team worked their normal 9-5s while our team renovated around them.

Avoid flight risks

Before we wrap up, we also wanted to issue one warning. There is a way working with a commercial contractor might not improve your bottom line. In construction, a pricey risk is that the contractor will leave in the middle of the job or do it wrong, making you hire another contractor to clean up their work. To avoid this, research a contractor thoroughly before working with them.

If it does happen, reach out to a trusted contractor in the area to finish or clean up the job. When their contractor abandoned the project, Two Maids and a Mop partnered with our team to finish the project faster. We also helped them navigate how to extend a construction business loan and pursue legal action against the other contractor.

At the end of the day, you need a commercial construction contractor who understands your business goals and how their work builds your future. If your business is in the Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake areas, consider Carlton Building services.
